Elemental Shaman: Talents

Client build 1.60.1.70425 · updated 2026-10-16

Every Elemental build and leveling order, on all three Shaman trees from the Forever beta client (build 1.60.1.70425). Pick a build and move the level slider to see where its points are at that level.

You get one talent point per level from 10. A tier opens after 5 points in the tiers above it in the same tree, and a talent joined by a line to one above it needs that one maxed first.

Requires 1 point in Stormstrike

0/5
Maelstrom WeaponRank 0/5
Requires 25 points in Enhancement Talents
Enhancement talent, tier 6, level 35+
New New. Melee hits can give stacks (up to 5, 30 seconds) that cut your next Lightning Bolt's cast time and mana by 4% per rank each; at 5/5 five stacks make it instant and free. Lightning Bolt only, by design. Blizzard knows it gives no instant cast with fewer than five points and is discussing more damage per stack or more frequent stacks.
0/1
Rage of the FarseerRank 0/1
Instant3 min cooldown
Requires 30 points in Enhancement Talents
Requires 2 points in Mental Quickness
Increases your attack speed by 30% for 25 sec.
Enhancement talent, tier 7, level 40+
New New in Forever: Enhancement's capstone. +30% attack speed for 25 seconds (the tooltip no longer covers casting speed). It needs Mental Quickness 2/2 first, so both the build and the levelling order plan for that.

Water ShieldRank 1/1
Instant
Requires 10 points in Restoration Talents
The caster is surrounded by 3 globes of water. When a spell, melee, or ranged attack hits the caster or when one of the caster's spells gets a critical result, 2% of maximum mana is restored to the caster, expending one water globe. Only one globe will activate every few seconds. Lasts 10 min.

Only one Elemental Shield can be active on the Shaman at any one time.
Restoration talent, tier 3, level 20+
New New in Forever. A third Elemental Shield: three globes that each restore 2% of maximum mana when you are hit or land a critical heal, rate-limited, lasting 10 minutes. It is Restoration's mana fix and the levelling order takes it.
0/5
Tidal MasteryRank 0/5

Elemental builds and leveling order

Elemental leveling order 30/7/14 Guide's pick, untested

Elemental Combat: Concussion 5, Reverberation 3, Elemental Alacrity 3, Call of Flame 3, Elemental Focus 1, Trial by Fire 2, Eye of the Storm 3, Earthbound 1, Elemental Reach 2, Lava Burst 1, Lightning Overload 3, Elemental Fury 3

Enhancement: Thundering Strikes 5, Improved Ghost Wolf 2

Restoration: Tidal Focus 5, Mindfulness 3, Totemic Focus 5, Water Shield 1

The 1–60 levelling order for Elemental, spent for the current tree (Call of Thunder gone, Tidal Focus first so Totemic Focus and Mindfulness unlock, Reverberation 3 instead of 5, Fury 3). With the Talented legacy perk every step comes up to five levels sooner.

Elemental, level 30 21/0/0 Tested in beta

Elemental Combat: Convection 4, Concussion 5, Elemental Alacrity 3, Call of Flame 3, Elemental Focus 1, Trial by Fire 2, Eye of the Storm 2, Lightning Overload 1

Level-30 build, which spends its 21st point on Lightning Overload in the 20-point row. Call of Thunder is gone and Improved Fire Nova is Trial by Fire; Lightning Overload needs 20 points under it, so the freed point goes to a fourth Convection rank (a judgement call). Alternatively, take Convection 5 instead of Convection 3 and Trial by Fire, or skip Convection and Lightning Overload for Elemental Warding 3 and Eye of the Storm 3. Order: the Elemental levelling order, keeping this build's talents; Convection, which that order skips, go in where the tree allows.

Elemental, level 60 (projected) 31/7/13 Guide's pick, untested

Elemental Combat: Convection 4, Concussion 5, Elemental Alacrity 3, Call of Flame 3, Elemental Focus 1, Trial by Fire 2, Eye of the Storm 2, Elemental Reach 2, Lava Burst 1, Lightning Overload 3, Elemental Fury 5

Enhancement: Thundering Strikes 5, Improved Ghost Wolf 2

Restoration: Tidal Focus 5, Mindfulness 3, Totemic Focus 5

The "Standard Build", 31/7/13: Lava Burst with Lightning Overload and Elemental Fury 5/5, Improved Ghost Wolf, and Restoration for Totemic Focus, Mindfulness and Tidal Focus. Beta theorycraft. Spent for the current tree: Call of Thunder is gone, Improved Fire Nova is Trial by Fire, and Convection 4 brings the points under Lightning Overload to the 20 it needs; Tidal Focus comes first because Totemic Focus and Mindfulness need 5 Restoration points. Elemental Mastery (31-point) is left out: it would cost an Elemental Fury rank. Order: the Elemental levelling order, keeping this build's talents; Convection and Elemental Fury, which that order skips, go in where the tree allows.
