WoW Forever DB

Alliance race

Human

Adaptable, determined people of the Eastern Kingdoms, and the race to pick for a melee or hybrid class that wants a steady crit bonus and a stun breaker.

Overview

Humans have the widest class list in the Alliance: Warrior, Paladin, Hunter, Rogue, Priest, Mage and Warlock. Human Hunter is a combination that is new in Forever. Will to Survive removes every stun on a 3 minute cooldown, which suits tanks, melee and anyone who gets locked down in dungeons.

The Human Spirit raises Spirit by 5%, which helps healers and Warlocks. Ruthless adds 2% critical strike chance to every spell and attack with no weapon needed, so every Human class gains from it, casters and healers included. Perception is a situational tool that reveals stealthed enemies for 20 seconds.

Ruthless needs no weapon, so Human Priests gain its crit too. They also have their own racial Priest spells: Divine Grace and Feedback.

Lore

Humans trace their roots to the Arathi tribes of the northern Eastern Kingdoms. Long ago they fought the Amani trolls and, under the leadership of the Arathi, built the first human empire and later formed seven allied kingdoms. The seven are Stromgarde, Gilneas, Alterac, Lordaeron, Dalaran, Kul Tiras and Stormwind.

The orcs arrived through the Dark Portal and attacked Stormwind in the First War. The city fell, and its survivors fled north by sea. In the Second War the human kingdoms joined with the dwarves, gnomes, high elves and others to form the Alliance. They defeated the Horde and placed the surviving orcs in internment camps.

Years later the plague of undeath and the Scourge devastated Lordaeron, and the Third War broke the northern kingdoms. Stormwind survived and rebuilt in the south. By the time of the original game, the city is the political centre of the Alliance, guarded by the Stormwind army and the Order of the Silver Hand, and ruled in the absence of its king by a regent.

Humans are known for their drive and ability to adapt. Their culture centres on the Holy Light, the Church of Light and the knightly orders, alongside the arcane scholars of Dalaran. They speak Common. Humans are the most numerous Alliance race and keep close ties with the dwarves and gnomes, and a long, uneasy bond with the night elves.
