WoW Forever DB

Alliance race

Dwarf

Sturdy mountain folk with a damage-reducing Stoneform, the only Alliance race that can play a Shaman, and a good choice for tanks.

Overview

Dwarves can be Warriors, Paladins, Hunters, Rogues, Priests and Shamans. Dwarf Shaman is a combination that is new in Forever, and it is the only way to play a Shaman on the Alliance side.

Stoneform removes Bleed, Poison and Disease effects, makes you immune to them, and cuts Physical damage taken by 10% for 8 seconds on a 3 minute cooldown. That makes it one of the best defensive racials for tanks. Big Game Hunter adds 5% damage against Beasts, which helps while leveling and for Hunters. Earth Fury raises the critical strike bonus to damage and healing by 2%, with no weapon needed.

Find Treasure shows nearby treasure on the minimap and can run alongside other tracking abilities. Dwarf Priests also keep Desperate Prayer and gain Chastise.

Lore

The titans shaped the dwarves from stone as the earthen. A curse of flesh later turned many of them into the flesh-and-blood dwarves of today. They are curious about their own past, and they love digging, forging and the study of ancient ruins.

Their homeland lies in the snowy mountains of Dun Morogh and the lands of Khaz Modan. The great city of Ironforge, carved into the mountain, is the seat of the Bronzebeard clan and of the king. Two other clans matter. The Wildhammers live in the Hinterlands and at Aerie Peak, and the Dark Iron clan, bitter after a war with the other clans, dwells in Blackrock Mountain under the fire lord Ragnaros.

The dwarves joined the Alliance in the Second War, and after the orcs took the Dark Portal the Horde held parts of Khaz Modan. Dwarves are explorers and archaeologists. Their Explorers' League seeks relics and the secrets of the titans across the world.

Dwarves are loud, loyal and fond of ale. They are close friends of the gnomes, who share Ironforge with them, and of the humans. They speak Dwarvish.
