Shadow Priest: Rotation

Level 40–60 with Shadowform (projected)

1. 
   Shadowform always on; drop it only to heal. Unconfirmed (in client data or one guide only)
2. 
   Shadow Word: Pain kept up on every target that will live through it.
3. 
   Devouring Plague on cooldown; with Devouring Contagion it spreads when the target dies.
4. 
   Mind Blast on cooldown, with Inner Focus when it's ready.
5. 
   Shadow Word: Death at or below 20% health with Early Demise, or while moving if you can take the backlash. Unconfirmed (in client data or one guide only)
6. 
   Mind Flay as filler between everything else.
7. 
   Vampiric Embrace when the party takes damage.

Packs

1. 
   Shadow Word: Pain on each mob. Mana-hungry before Shadowform.
2. 
   Psychic Scream to scatter the pack while the DoTs tick.
3. 
   Power Word: Shield on yourself, then Mind Flay the one that comes back.
4. 
   Devouring Plague with Devouring Contagion, on the mob that dies first.

Cooldowns and emergencies

• 
  Silence from 30: interrupt a cast and silence for 5 s (45 s cooldown, 20 yards).
• 
  Vampiric Embrace 30-second cooldown, 30 s of party healing: keep it up.
• 
  Fade Mind Blast makes a lot of threat in groups.
• 
  Inner Focus if you take it: a free Mind Blast with +25% crit.

While leveling

1. 
   Power Word: Shield on yourself before the pull.
2. 
   Mind Blast to pull, from 30 yards.
3. 
   Shadow Word: Pain straight after.
4. 
   Mind Flay from 20 (22 with Wand Specialization) as the mob closes; it slows it. Watch your mana.
5. Wand to finish, so you land the killing blow for Spirit Tap.
6. 
   Devouring Plague on a tougher mob: it heals you too (24-second cooldown).
7. 
   Vampiric Embrace from 25 when your partner takes damage: 30 s of party healing.
